DTC Vision Statementsubmitted by JoAnn Titusto ensure technology integration development of 21st Century skills by all students and staffuse of technology tools to make tasks (data collection/student files/finance) more efficient DTC Vision StatementSubmitted by R. Fremont
The Plainfield Public Schools’ DTC committee is comprised of a group of teachers, students, and administrators who serve as a “think-tank” for 21st Century Skills. This group will meet in person and virtually to discuss the skills our students will need in college and in their careers, as well as current trends in technology and their connections to classroom learning.
As learning expands beyond the conventional walls of the classroom and beyond the school building, we must begin to change our focus on how to better prepare the students to succeed in a digital world. In previous years, the educational focus was on teaching students the tools, what they needed to know about these tools and what they were able to do with these technological tools. With students immersed in the digital world in their personal lives, the focus now needs to shift to address what students need to know and be able to with this technology in order to learn effectively, to be productive and to posses the skills to be competitive in a digital age.
To accomplish this vision, the DTC will define their “think-tank” concept, read current articles, and investigate students’ fascination with social networking. As a group, the DTC will research, discuss and implement some of the current trends in technology education affecting our students, our faculty and our schools.

The Technology Committee promotes the use of technology to support teaching and enhance student learning by effectively embedding current technology into instruction.
